Safeguarding, Safety and First Aid

There are three areas that all leaders should keep up to date:

  • Safeguarding
  • Safety
  • First Response (an introductory First Aid)

Safeguarding

There are four sections within the training:

  • Introduction
  • What is abuse?
  • Bullying
  • Our role, your responsibilities

Safeguarding (valid for 3 years but constantly updated in line with government guidance) can be completed either online or by attending a course managed by the Scout County .

The online training will take approximately one hour and you need to do it all in one go. You will need a printer to print off the certificate. At the end you will be able to complete the final section ‘What would you do?’ Once completed,  you print off a certificate.

The Scout Association reports that: We have been experiencing some problems with the self-generating certificate at the end of the course. Please take a screen shot of the final score page when it says ‘Congratulations’. so you can use this as evidence of completion while we try to retify this. If you require any further assistance please contact safeguarding@scouts.org.uk
