Scouting is an inclusive, values based movement and membership is open to all those who share our fundamental values. This means that all members are regarded equally whatever their abilities.
We should seek to ensure that all young people, regardless of their abilities, can enjoy and achieve. We can do this by making reasonable adjustments that mean we include young people with disabilities or additional needs. However there may be situations where we do not have the capacity or resources to make the reasonable adjustments necessary.
Activity badges provide a wide range of choice for Scouts. Young people with additional needs and disabilities may need flexibility to gain their activity badges.
The Scout Association seeks to include young people with additional needs and disabilities in mainstream Scouting wherever possible.
