The Scout Troop is open to young people aged between 10 ½ and 14 years of age, although rules do exist that allow attendance to their 15th birthday.
Places in the Fulwood Troops are normally filled from the Cub Packs, however they are also offered to others who fulfil the following criteria:
If you would like to join the 142nd Fulwood Scout Troop, please contact me via the directory page. However please note that the Troop is currently at its limit and those joining from the Cub pack are expected to keep us oversubscribed for the next few years. As such it is unlikely that those joining the waiting list will be able to join the Troop before they become too old.
Almost all adults in Scouting, including uniformed Leaders, are volunteers and as such they give their time for free.
The Scout Troop Leaders have overall responsibility for the Troop, and the activities which members take part in. There are other helpers including Explorers and sometimes Guides working towards their service awards.

It is hoped that parents will want to support their Scout Group. There are many ways in which this support can be given:
Scouting costs money. The Leaders do their best to offer quality Scouting for the lowest possible cost. The main source of income for the Group is the Membership Subscription paid by all members. Subs are currently paid on a Term basis via standing order.
Many Troops identify their annual camp as the highlight of the year and at Fulwood this is no exception.
However for scouts to fully enjoy their annual camp it is necessary for them to learn the ‘basics’ which is what we attempt to do throughout the year during our weekly meetings.
Some of the events we do are reported above (see past events) however some more information about specific ‘skills’ are detailed on the pages linked below.
This is the boring theory! but without it we can’t enjoy it.
