Scout Report

Wednesday, Expedition Day 1

We spend quite a bit of time 'playing' in the outdoors during the year. At camp the scouts get the opportunity to put what they have learnt into practice when they plan, organise and undertake an expedition.

Quite simply each Patrol is given a destination several miles from our campsite that they have to get to during the afternoon. Carrying their food, utensils and tents they set off having planned their route to obtain the answers to some questions set by me to test their observational skills.

This year their destination was Rydal Hall Conference Centre which was approximately 4 miles walking away, and both patrols managed to get there in good time. They are pictured here setting off.

Unfortunately as Luke had sustained a nasty injury during the Camp Olympics yesterday, we took pity on him and gave him a lift to Rydal Hall so that he could spend the evening and night with his patrol. To take his place during the walk Rory was commandeered to take charge of the Cobras.
