Scout Report

Thursday, Slip Slidin'

The weather was good for the overnight expedition, and we heard later that the scouts managed to get up early and set off by 8am in order to get back to the camp by lunchtime.

Back at the site, the leaders had enjoyed a quiet night without the scouts around, and spent the morning around the camp fire waiting for them to return.

Puffin' Billy this year had a bit of an upgrade, with a shelter built over it, using one of the trailer covers, to protect it from the rain which was something we got rather a lot of at the end of last year's camp, so we were taking no chances this year.

The Wolves were first back, just after 11am. However after an hour and a half later we got the message that the Cobras had got lost and had turned back, so they ended up getting a lift back.

The afternoon was a chance to relax a bit, and the water slide was brought out for some serious messing about - and some cleaning of some scouts!

We are blessed with a good hill for the water slide and with the sun beating down there was plenty of fun to be had when Paul and Jeremy covered it in washing up liquid and water.

The picture on the right shows them attempting to run up the slide - not a hope.

After the evening meal we had a wide game with a difference. It was still evasion but this time it was the senior patrol's turn to spot the troop AND leaders before they / we got to the lamp. Dave nearly managed to get there by hiding under a tarp - but they don't move on their own and he was eventually caught by a bemused member of the senior patrol.
