Scout Report

Tuesday, Rafting

After yesterdays 'professional' water activity, it was time to have a go at making our own watercraft! and construct some rafts. Having taken bamboo poles and some small inner tubes with us, the lads set about building a raft for each patrol that would be capable of supporting them in the river and lake.

The results were very good as can be seen here.

After the evening meal, it was time to pack our rucksacks and set off for the hill that overlooked Beddgelert called Myndd Sygun. Taking tarpaulins with us we were able to construct shelters on top of the hill so that we could sleep there and be up ready for the Scout Sunrise at 8am the following morning. The pictures here show some of the shelters, unfortunately Snowdon in the background of the picture on the left was shrouded in cloud.

It was a fantastic evening and the view of Beddgelert at night was spectacular. Unfortunately the picture doesn't do it justice.
