Scout Report

Wednesday, To pastures new

Well the forecast was correct and the winds were very strong, although the only canvas it managed to claim was the main dining shelter, and the toilet tent but that doesn’t count as we had not used all the pegs (forgot to pack enough). The marquee was also hosting some deep puddles and it wasn’t long before several drainage canals had been dug to deal with that.  The picture here was taken shortly after the rain had stopped and shows the stream in flood, although at its height it was well over the banks.

As the morning passed the rain stopped and the sun came out, which was good news for the Scouts as they were due to backpack to another camp site for the evening via various points where they would pick up answers to some questions.

Having studied the clues and organised their routes the two patrols set off after lunch, taking with them their tents, a trangia stove and food for the evening and following morning.

Seen here, all smiles are the Bio Disposables on the left and the Dragons on the right.
