142nd Troop Camp 2005 - North Wales

Another restful morning after the excitement of yesterday’s successful assault on Moel Hebog, with the patrols learning the basics of fire lighting, and raft building.
In the afternoon we were off to Plas
Y Brenin, where the Scouts enjoyed a couple of hours canoeing on the river.
With the basics over (most have canoed before) there was plenty of time for some canoe games, splashing, and a bit of falling in.
Whilst at Plas Y Brenin we took a look at the weather forecast – big mistake. Heavy storms forecast for Snowdonia on Tuesday night. As we left Plas Y Brenin the rain had started, however the patrols still managed to cook their evening meal on open fires – it must be the enthusiasm they are getting from ‘that book’.
