142nd Troop Camp 2005 - North Wales

After a good night, I think it only rained once, the Scouts packed up and continued their task of finding the answers to the clues – a route that eventually took them back to the main camp site in time for lunch. Strange how food can encourage them.
A restful afternoon followed with some further work being undertaken on the bivouac and another raft being constructed. Plus the art of making Dutch Arrows provided a bit of fun.
Later
in the afternoon the Camp Oven was brought into service and both patrols managed
to bake a cake as seen here.
To make sure that the Scouts hadn’t rested too much, in the evening we went for a night hike and found the ghostly cottage of Hafod Owen not far above our site. A moderate two-hour hike that ended after 11pm with the usual cake, bog wash, and SFB reading and some suitably tired Scouts..
