Scout Report

Saturday again, Until Next Year!

After building it all week, the scouts successfully slept in their bivouac overnight, even surviving a short rain shower. To be fair it was quite an impressive structure that was big enough to sleep eight. One of the arts of building a bivouac is to make it blend into the background and from the picture here you can see that they did pretty well.

In case you can't see it yet, the bivouac is to the right of the tent, just behind it.

And to prove they did sleep in it, I took this picture of them at 7am and they were well asleep.  In fact it was quite difficult to get them out of bed for the early start we needed to pack up the camp.

In a complete reversal of last Saturday, it was pack up time. Fortunately the rain held off which meant that the canvas could be packed away dry, and before long the trailer was packed and we were waiting for the parents to pick up the Scouts, after yet another successful camp filled with lasting memories.

The next time we visit this site will be centenary year, but before that it will be a return visit to the Lake District in 2006. Book your place now.
