142nd Troop Camp 2005 - North Wales
Home Sat Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat
This is the report of the 2005 annual camp to Nantgwynant near Beddgelert, North Wales.
It is
written by myself, Mike Halliwell, and obviously
provides a leaders eye view. There is also a report from one of the scouts,
which provides an interesting view from someone taking part rather than
organising it.
A link at the foot of each page takes you to the next day, or you can navigate to any day using the links at the top of each page.

This year saw another return visit to our favoured site in North Wales. Known as the quarry it is a secluded site within the grounds of Llyndy Isaf farm, which is a couple of miles east of the village of Beddgelert in the Gwynant Valley.
Saturday was spent travelling to the site, having packed the trailer and vehicles the previous evening. The Scouts themselves being transported by various parents.
We all managed to arrive at about 3pm in glorious sunshine, a most unusual scenario for North Wales !
Having pitched the marquee and leaders tents in ‘the usual’ spots, the Scouts then ventured out to find suitable sites for their patrols which this year were named the Dragons and the Bio Disposables. It’s never a good idea to ask how they arrive at their names – so I didn’t.
For the record the members of each being:-
| Dragons | Bio Disposables |
| Joel Blakemore | Tom Mitchell-Williams |
| Jonathan Buchsbaum | Tom Manley |
| Tom Heatley | Max Goodall |
| Sam Thompson | Robbie Mitchell-Williams |
