The following pages contain a brief summary of the activities that we got up to during our annual camp this year.

It is written by the Troop Leader, Mike Halliwell, and obviously provides a leaders eye view. I am hoping that at least one of the Scouts will be writing their own version for a view from a Scout's perspective. When it arrives !! I shall post it here.

A link at the foot of each page takes you to the next day, or you can navigate to any day using the links at the top of each page.

Day 1, Here we Go!

This year we set off on a return visit to North Wales, where we camped in 2001.

After packing on the Friday night, Saturday started bright and sunny as we left Sheffield bound for Wales. With the exception of a couple of light rain patches this brightness remained throughout the day and allowed us to pitch the marquee and other tents in dry weather.

The picture above shows the idyllic setting we had. In the background can be seen Moel Hebog, which is above Beddgelert and the lake is 5 minutes walk. The stream that flows through the site in the foreground provided a plentiful supply.

After our first evening meal we discussed the items on the programme for the week ahead. For more info on this read on........................
