Wednesday: The overnighter

A very wet morning threatened to dampen spirits as the Patrols prepared to strike their tents and head out to a remote farm high on the fell.

Although the location of the remote site for the overnight hike was just under a mile and a half away, the patrols were given two grid references, which would extend their walk to about 5 miles each day. They were also given a question at each location, which had to be answered to maintain the 50 points they were allocated at the start of the hike. They would lose 10 points for each incorrect answer and 1 point for every 10 minutes they arrived at the farm after 7pm.

Fortunately as the Patrols set off from base, the rain stopped and they both managed to arrive at the target site (as seen above) in plenty of time and with correct answers.

The dry weather meant they were able to enjoy the evening, however the weather forecast promised heavy thunderstorms overnight.
