| The Beaver Colony is open to young people between 6 and 8 years of age.

However please note that the Colony is currently at its limit and the waiting list is VERY long. As such it is unlikely that those joining the waiting list will be able to take up a place with us unless leaders can be found to open another Colony. Almost all adults in Scouting, including uniformed Leaders, are volunteers and as such they give their time for free.
The Beaver Scout Leaders have overall responsibility for the Colony, and the activities which members take part in. There are other helpers including young Scouts and Guides working towards their service awards, and parents are requested to help with outdoor activities.
The Fulwood Beaver Colony meet on a Wednesday night. Meetings start at 6pm and finish at 7pm unless otherwise informed.

Beavers can work towards a number badges during their time in the Colony. The main badges worked for are the Challenges, leading to the Chief Scout's Bronze Award, the top award that can be earned in Beavers. Activity Badges can be worked on by any Beaver and there are five to choose from. The detailed requirements of all the badges are in the Beaver Scout Logbook, and in the ScoutBase UK Badge Book [go to Scoutbase UK Beaver Scout Index]. Copies are available to borrow from the Pack, or alternatively the Logbook can be purchased from the Scout Shop.
It is hoped that parents will want to support their Scout Group. There are many ways in which this support can be given:
Scouting costs money. The Leaders do their best to offer quality Scouting for the lowest possible cost. The main source of income for the Group is the Membership Subscription paid by all members. Subs are currently paid on a Term basis.
